Thai Street Food in DuPont Circle

Being someone who lived in the DMV for a majority of my life, I always felt like we had waaaaay too many Thai spots. As soon as I sat down, I would default to three orders.

1. Pad Thai with Pork

2. Drunken Noodles with Beef

3. Green Curry with Chicken

(and if I was feeling extra luxurious, I would order some thai tea lol)


But as soon as I walked into Thai Chef, something was different... The owner, Chalisa (who also bartends here) stopped me before I ordered and told me “you GOTTA try our street food! Real Thai street food.”


Hmm... something different from cliche orders of pad thai, drunken noodles, green curry, etc… I agreed and asked to get my hands on some street bites.

I got a taste of thai street food like Som Tam which is a sweet, sour, spicy, salty salad made from shredded green papayas, tomatoes, garlic, shrimp, peanuts and chili peppers (insert fire emoji here) and also some meat skewers like moo-ping, which is a Thai style pork skewer (insert double fire emoji)

I also had some of the most FIRE wings I ever had… Bangkok wings. Along with some other street food dishes. You can see those in the YouTube video below:
